The polarisation does mean your head has to be very well placed vertically, or ghosting can be quite bad, but in the sweet spot ghosting is only apparent where there is high contrast. If you get the chance find one to try, but at about the same price as a good 22" monitor the zalman was definately a worthwhile buy for me. The 3D looks very good and there is minimal ghosting when you are in the sweet-spot.
Support with the DDD driver is pretty good so I imagine LOTRO should work nice since you said you already tested it in anaglyph mode.
